In May of 2009, Branson Airport (KBBG) opened up providing direct service to the Branson area for the first time to larger aircraft with a 7,140' runway and modern amenities and full services to general aviation aircraft. KBBG also provides an ILS approach. Prior to 2009, general aviation visitors to Branson had to fly in to M. Graham Clark - Taney County Airport (KPLK), with a runway length of 3,700'. Smaller aircraft can still fly into KPLK or utilize the longer and wider runway at KBBG during more inclement weather.
Branson offers a wide range of activities and events, from Silver Dollar City, the areas best adventure park, to continual shows, concerts and performances all along the main strip of Branson. Also, coming up on August 20th, is the 3rd Annual Guns and Hoses Fishing Tournament. Funds raised from the tournament benefit the Branson Fire and Police auxiliary fund.
